Welcome to Wreay School

Wreay is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England School, which caters for children aged 4 11. Although the control of the school rests with Cumbria Local Education Authority, the Church has links with the school through the Vicar and the Diocesen Representcttive on the Governing Body.

We seek to provide Primary Education within a Christian setting. We encourage the children to grow in understanding and acquire positive skills, attitudes and values to help them in their future lives. Within our curriculum, as well as gaining strong language, mathematical and scientific skills, your child will build confidence, develop selfreliance, learn to make decisions and develop the ability to articulate feelings and formulate ideas of their own.

We encourage interaction between the school, the home and the local community. We see your role as vital and will provide frequent opportunities to keep you informed about your children's progress. We are very keen to encourage parental Involvement in school, and if you have time to work with us in school you will be made very welcome.

Above all, we see ourselves as a family, nurturing, respecting and valuing one another and the gifts we each have to offer. We want our children to grow in selfesteem, and to participate in ci caring loving atmosphere.

You are welcome to visit our school at any time to meet the staff and myself. We hope, with your help, to make your child's time at school both happy and productive.

The provision for pupils' personal development is very good, they have very good attitudes to learning, very good behaviour, and relationships are very good - teaching is good, as a result learning is good...
